Position Summary/Purpose

Determine the sequence of steps to be taken when delivering the company’s services at the customer’s property. Maintain timely and effective communication and flow of information with Project Managers, Supervisors, or Managers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in warehouse inventory and organization

  • Train new and existing personnel and provide guidance toward IICRC certification completion

Respond to service calls to help customers dealing with water, fire or mold damage Identify safety hazards, communicate, and establish control measures to ensure the safety of occupants and workers

  • Provide field and technical support to include estimates in Xactimate

  • Meet with clients and adjusters to develop an appropriate scope of work and estimates

  • Provide initial estimates in Xactimate and/or MICA and ensure project is completed accurately according to the project scope of work

  • Serve as the insurance industry expert regarding IICRC standards

  • Responsible for properly documenting each phase of the project to include estimating, work progression, work completion, and final billing

  • Appropriate handling and application of wall cleaners and deodorants

  • Ensure customer’s contents are properly documented, wrapped, and packed

  • Effectively oversee emergency cleaning procedures to include carpet and upholstery cleaning, and hard surface floor care

  • Communicate effectively with customers as well as insurance adjusters regarding change orders and settlements negotiations

  • Inspect completed work for thoroughness and accuracy to ensure work as well as documentation meets quality and compliance expectations

  • Complete/review technician’s daily log

  • Maintain appearance and stock of appropriate tools, materials, and supplies for company vehicles

  • Oversee equipment and vehicle maintenance schedules

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Education and Experience High school diploma (or GED).

  • Mathematical Skills Adequate math skills – Ability to apply learned techniques and to determine appropriate amounts of chemicals, supplies, and materials required.

  • Computer Skills Demonstrates basic proficiency in the use of computers, email, and portable devices used to report and record daily activity.

  • Certificates Preferred IICRC: ASD- Applied Structural Drying; WRT- Water Damage Restoration Technician; FSRT-Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician Certification in performing appropriate services: Carpet (IICRC CCT), hard surface (IICRC SMT), upholstery (IICRC UFT), and fire damage restoration (IICRC FSRT) and odor control (IICRC OCT).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Working Conditions

  • The work of this position is predominantly carried out on the customer’s property. Employee will encounter facilities where standing water and sewage are present, heat is unavailable due to lack of utilities, fire damage has occurred, and mold or other organic growth exists. Daily exposure to the shop where vehicles and equipment are housed and maintained is typical.

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
