Job Summary:

The Contents Restoration Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing the restoration, cleaning, and storage of personal and business property damaged by fire, water, mold, or other disasters. This role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring that all restoration projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The Lead Technician will act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their belongings are handled with the utmost care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:

    • Lead and manage contents restoration projects from start to finish.
    • Coordinate and oversee the packing, cleaning, and restoration of contents.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Assess the condition of damaged contents and determine the best restoration methods.
    • Operate and maintain specialized restoration equipment, including ultrasonic cleaners, ozone chambers, and drying chambers.
    • Perform hands-on cleaning and restoration of items, including textiles, electronics, furniture, and personal belongings.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and train restoration technicians, providing guidance and support.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project progress and address any challenges.
  • Client Relations:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the restoration process.
    • Communicate clearly and regularly with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
    • Ensure a positive client experience by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
  • Quality Control:

    • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations.
    • Implement and enforce safety and quality control procedures on all restoration projects.
    • Maintain accurate records of restored items, including detailed inventory lists and photographs.
  • Inventory and Logistics:

    • Manage the inventory of contents before and after restoration, ensuring proper documentation.
    • Coordinate the storage and transportation of restored items.
    • Work closely with insurance adjusters and other third parties to ensure accurate documentation and billing.
Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced certification in restoration or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in contents restoration or a related field.
    • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.
  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of restoration techniques for various materials, including textiles, electronics, and furniture.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
    • Proficiency in using restoration equipment and software for inventory management.
  • Certifications:

    • IICRC Certification in Contents Restoration, Fire & Smoke Restoration, or Water Damage Restoration is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
    • Comfortable working in various environments, including those with exposure to smoke, water, and mold.
    • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Compensation: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
